We are happy to announce the formation of Beit Kaplan.

Beit Kaplan is a think tank for the cultivation of a flourishing, dynamic Jewish civilization. With deep ties to Reconstructionist Judaism, we embrace Ahavat Yisrael – love for the diverse, creative Jewish people and for its ancestral homeland – and the centrality of Jewish peoplehood. 

We embrace the contemplation, guidance, and practice of our ancestors, the teachings of Rabbi Mordecai Kaplan and other modern thinkers, and the thoughtful, disciplined incorporation of contemporary values into Jewish life.

We unequivocally support the right of Israel to exist, and to exist as a Jewish state.

In the coming months, we plan to offer online forums to rabbis and laypeople to discuss topics of concern to the Jewish community.  We will also provide speakers for congregations and other groups who wish to continue these conversations in person.  Referral and consultation services will be made available.

Membership is open to graduates of recognized rabbinical schools who subscribe to the Mission Statement and positions of Beit Kaplan.
